Gray Kentucky man jailed and charged with threatening to kill a woman and her children

From The Knox County Ky Sheriff's Department -

Timmy Smith - KCDC

Monday evening April 6, 2020 at approximately 8:30pm Deputy Mikey Ashurst was dispatched on a 911 call to the Gray community where 43 year old Timmy Smith of Gray reportedly pointed a firearm at a woman and her three young children while threatening to kill them.

Deputies arrived to find Smith sitting inside a vehicle in the driveway of the residence.

When approached by deputies, Smith refused to exit the vehicle or show his hands while obviously moving around and reaching for something inside the car. He was repeatedly given commands to cooperate and show his hands, but he refused.

Deputies then made their way to the vehicle forcing the door open and removed Smith while he resisted.

Witnesses on scene stated to Deputy Ashurst that Smith had brandished and pointed a firearm while he stated he had no reservations in killing the family.

Timmy Smith was arrested and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center charged with wanton endangerment – 1st degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct – 2nd degree, terroristic threatening – 3rd degree, and public intoxication.

He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
