County officials say that multiple Harlan County fire departments were called to a fire Friday afternoon.

The fire spread into the mountain and threatened several homes in the Airport Road community.

Judge-Executive Dan Mosley said the fire started around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. and burned two outbuildings and three cars.

Emergency crews were on the scene dealing with the fire. Firefighters from Harlan, Sunshine, Loyall, Wallins, Evarts, Upper Cloverfork, and Bell County Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the call. Harlan County Emergency Management and Division of Forestry were also at the fire.

There have been no reports of injuries due to the fire.
