Harlan County Sheriff's Department makes multiple arrests

From The Harlan County Sheriff's Department -

(Harlan, Ky.) – On Wednesday February 23, 2022 the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist Probation and Parole at a residence in Mary Alice. Through an investigation, Methamphetamine and Schedule 2 Controlled Substances were located inside the residence.


Polly Osborne, 39, of Mary Alice was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Prescription Controlled Substance Not In Proper Container. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. Additional charges and arrests are pending. The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.


On Wednesday, Deputies also arrested Tommie Chaffin, 43, of Bledsoe on a Kentucky Parole Board Parole Violation Warrant. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.


On Thursday February 24, 2022 the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint on a vehicle on Pine Mountain. A traffic stop was conducted at Baxter and after further investigation it was determined that the operator was under the influence. Deputies also discovered Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia in the vehicle.


Kresta Farmer, 42, of Coldiron was charged with Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Operating on Suspended Operators License. It was also determined the she had an active Bell County District Court Bench Warrant. She was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.


The follow Indictments were executed at the Harlan County Detention Center:


Brian Tompkins, 32, of Closplint was charged with Flagrant Non Support and Persistent

Felony Offender 2nd.


Matthew Clutts, 28, of Evarts was charged with Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process.


Jimmy Griffey, 62, of Evarts was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree.
