Harlan County traffic stop leads to drug arrest

During the early morning hours on Sunday, October 4, 2020 Deputies from the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling in the Shields area in response to several drug related complaints.


While on patrol, Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and after making contact with the occupants in the vehicle it was determined that a passenger had an active Bench Warrant from Harlan County District Court. Through further investigation, Deputies also located methamphetamine.

32 year old Kristle Taylor, of Coxton was arrested on the Failure to Appear Warrant and was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine).

Taylor was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office.
