Harlan Sheriff's Search Warrant Yields Three Arrests In Cawood

From the Harlan County Sheriff's Department -


On Tuesday May 7th, deputies executed a search warrant at a Hal Street residence in the Cawood community. Upon making entry into the residence, one subject attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.


During the execution of the search warrant, suspected Methamphetamine, multiple prescription pills in baggies, Marijuana, drug paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking, cash, and a ledger were located.


Also, a female subject was found hiding in a building on the property and suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located on the subject.


43-year-old Marco Hopkins of Evarts was arrested by Deputy CJ Reed and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance Within 1,000 Feet Of School, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree Drug Unspecified, and Resisting Arrest.


32-year-old Teai Skidmore of Cranks was arrested by Deputy Josh Lewis and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess.








Also present was 39-year-old Ashley Lewis of Mary Alice. She was arrested by Deputy Jeremy Jones on a Harlan Circuit Court Indictment.


Deputies Josh Lewis, CJ Reed and Jeremy Jones were assisted by Sergeant Geary Ferguson, and Deputy Jesse Howard.


This case remains under investigation with more arrests pending.
