Kettle Island man arrested after slamming into a home

On Tuesday afternoon October 29, 2019 at approximately 4:27pm Bell County Deputy Patrick Brooks responded to a single vehicle collision on KY 2013.
Once on scene Deputy Brooks found that a 2000 Ford Ranger had struck a residence after hitting a tree and driving through two chain-link fences. The damage to the home was estimated at $1,000 and at the time of the collision an individual inside the residence was knocked over by the impact.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 58 year old Dennis W. Baker of Kettle Island, was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of an intoxicant. Baker stated that he has used Methamphetamine within three days of the accident. Deputy Brooks administered standard field sobriety tests which he failed. Baker was unable to produce an insurance card and stated the vehicle was not insured.
Dennis Baker was arrested and transported to Pineville Community Hospital for a blood test and then lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – 1st offense, criminal mischief – 1st degree, wanton endangerment – 1st degree, failure to produce insurance card, and failure to maintain insurance – 1st offense.
