Knox County deputies arrest wanted man found in a closet

On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Knox County Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Alex Creek Road in Flat Lick. The vehicle was being driven by 42-year-old Christopher Stoots of Flat Lick, who fled in the vehicle and later fled on foot.


On Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Stoots was again stopped by deputies in an attempt to execute a warrant for the August 10, 2022 incident. He fled again, while attempting to run over a deputy with his vehicle.


On Monday, September 5, 2022, deputies arrested Christopher Stoots after finding him hiding in a closet at his residence on Alex Creek Road in Flat Lick.


Christopher Ray Stoots was charged with Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree/Police Officer, two counts of Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree/ Motor Vehicle, two counts of Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree/On Foot, Resisting Arrest and Criminal Mischief-3rd Degree.


He was also wanted on A Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on a Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree. Stoots was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
