Thursday afternoon, April 3, Deputy Elijah Broughton responded to a report of a silver Chrysler being stolen in the Gray community of Knox County.
Having taken the report Deputy Broughton found that a neighbor stated to have seen a red headed male driving a similar vehicle a short distance away. Canvassing the area Broughton found the vehicle unoccupied, with the key switch disabled and recovered it. Witness interviews claimed the vehicle had been left there by 29 year old Jacob Robert Jones of Knox County. Jones fit the description given earlier at report.
Deputies located Jones a short time later at Crossroads Market in Gray, He was arrested and lodged in the Knox County Jail charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500 (auto). The vehicle was retrieved for return to the owner.
