Knox County Ky Sheriff's Arrests Report

On February 13, 2019 at approximately 12:35 am Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on HWY 11 north near intersection of HWY 1304 in Girdler. The vehicle initially increased in speed when Deputy Ashurst attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle eventually stopped after turning west onto HWY 1304. Deputy Ashurst arrested the driver, Adam Bays age 34 of Gray, KY charging him with Speeding, Carless Driving, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, No Registration Plates or Receipt, No Insurance and Menacing. Deputy Ashurst also located a 2 year old baby inside the vehicle. He then charged Adam Bays with, Endangering Welfare of a Minor. Adam Bays was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines on a Neglect Action and two counts of Contempt of Court charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. The 2 year baby was released to a family member.


On February 14, 2019 at approximately 3:30 am Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a domestic violence complaint involving a handgun at residence on Indian Creek Road in Gray. The caller advised that she was afraid for her life and her children’s lives. When Deputy Ashurst entered the residence, the perpetrator, Timothy Burnette, became aggressive. Deputy Ashurst arrested Timothy Lynn Burnette age 52 of Gray, KY charging him with Assault-4th Degree-Domestic Violence, Endangering Welfare of a Minor(4 counts), Wanton Endangerment-2nd Degree (3 counts), Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree, Menacing, Alcohol intoxication and Resisting Arrest. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 14, 2019 at approximately 10:30 pm Knox County Deputy Hunter Luttrell observed a vehicle crossing back and forth across the center line and the shoulder line while traveling on US 25E in Barbourville. After conducting a traffic stop, Deputy Luttrell arrested the driver, Randall Perkins age 57 of Manchester, KY charging him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Reckless Driving. During the arrest two plastic bags containing suspected methamphetamine were located. He was then charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance-1st Degree. A passenger, Danielle Renae Gibson age 34 of Rockholds, KY was arrested when two plastic bags of suspected methamphetamine and a syringe were located in her possession. She was charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance-1st Degree and Possession Controlled Substance-1st Degree, They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 14, 2019 Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones arrested Brianna Lasha Evans age 20 of Gray, KY on two Knox County Bench Warrants for Drug Court Violation charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 15, 2019 at approximately 1:20 am Knox County Deputy Hunter Luttrell conducted a traffic stop on US 25E north of Barbourville. Deputy Luttrell arrested the driver, Kristopher Steven Scalf age 22 of Barbourville, KY charging him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and No Tail Lamps. During the arrest a used “meth” pipe was located. He was then charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A passenger, Zachary Shelton age 24 of Barbourville, KY was arrested and charged with Possession Controlled Substance-1st Degree when a plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine was located in his possession. He was also wanted on two Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to pay the fines on a Possession Controlled Substance-2nd Degree and a Drug Court Violation. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 16, 2019 Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones arrested Susan K Brewer age 39 of Woolum, KY on two Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to appear on Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition-Shoplifting, Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance and Contempt of Court charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 17, 2019 at approximately 1:35 pm Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones responded to a residence on Columbia Drive in Hinkle regarding a minor child walking alone in the rain without shoes. After making contact with the caller, Deputy Jones went to the residence belonging to the child. Once inside the residence, Deputy Jones located suspected methamphetamine, 4 pills and three glass “meth” pipes.


Donnie Ray Smith age 59 of Hinkle, KY and Rebecca Ann Davis age 33 of Hinkle, KY were arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Endangering Welfare of a Minor, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 17, 2019 Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a domestic violence complaint at a residence on HWY 1629 in Corbin. After conducting an investigation, Deputy Ashurst arrested Sylvia Garland age 30 of Corbin, KY charging her with Assault-4th Degree-Domestic Violence. She was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine on a Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance charge. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 17, 2019 Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones was dispatched to a report of a vehicle going through a fence and striking the deck at a residence on HWY 2417 in Corbin. After arriving at the location and conducting an investigation, Deputy Jones arrested Jimmy Paris McNeil age 53 of Corbin, KY charging him with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 17, 2019 Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a disturbance outside a residence on Ellen Lane in Barbourville. Deputy Ashurst arrested Carrie Price age 29 of Corbin, KY charging her with Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On February 18, 2019 at approximately 9:30 pm a vehicle was observed stopped in the middle of HWY 11 near Macky Bend. When the deputy activated his blue lights, the driver threw a glass “meth” pipe out of the vehicle window. Knox County Deputy Bobby Jones arrested Mathew S Tye age 34 of Barbourville, KY charging him with No Insurance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Littering and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mathew Tye was also wanted on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Theft of Identity by Another and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card-over $500 and a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines on No Registration Receipt and Failure to Produce Insurance Card charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
