KSP Conducting A Bell County Death Investigation

The Kentucky State Police are conducting a death investigation after a man's body was recovered from a river in the Blackmont Community on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

After speaking with PIO Trooper Shane Jacobs, we understand a 68-year-old man, identified as Nicholas Saylor, had gone fishing on Tuesday, September 16th and not reported back to his family.

Prior to reporting the man missing publicly, his family went looking for him. His family later found him in the waters of Cumberland River in the Blackmont community near Cardinal Road.

Kentucky State Police contacted the Bell County Rescue Squad to recover the man's body.

While an investigation is pending, Trooper Jacobs states that no foul play is suspected.
