Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Lieut. Chris Edwards, Detective Bryon Lawson arrested 31-year-old Brittany Vickers of London on Tuesday morning March 30, 2021 at approximately 11:16 AM.
The arrest occurred off Cole Road, approximately one mile west of London after Sheriff's investigators while assisting social services on a referral found a woman, later identified as Vickers, there caring for her four-year-old child. Vickers appeared to be intoxicated and told investigators that she was on Suboxone.
As the investigation continued deputies located a large amount of Neurontin pills on the floor and within reach of the four-year-old child.
Brittany Vickers was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center charged with criminal abuse – second-degree; possession of a controlled substance – third-degree. She was also charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court for arraignment on charges of operating on suspended or revoked operator's license and other violations.
