From Laurel County Sheriff John Root
Laurel Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards along with the Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling are conducting a death investigation regarding the discovery of a deceased female off Fisherman Island Road, approximately 7 miles west of London on Sunday morning January 20, 2019 at approximately 11:37 AM.
The victim, identified as 72 ear old Glynda Smith of London, was found deceased outside her vehicle in her driveway. The cause of death is pending further investigation and an autopsy is scheduled in Frankfort on Monday to assist in the investigation.
Also assisting on the investigation at the scene for the Laurel County Sheriff’s office was Major Chuck Johnson, Deputy Jake Miller, Deputy Jamie Etherton, and Deputy Taylor McDaniel. Also assisting was Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County. The investigation is continuing.
