Midddlesboro Police Make Arrest After DNA Evidence in Burglary Investigation

In February 2025, Lt. Barry Cowan of the Middlesboro Police Department began investigating a series of burglaries involving multiple storage units in the area.
Shortly after the investigation began, Lt. Cowan identified a suspect, made an arrest, and recovered most of the stolen property.
Cowan recently received the results of DNA evidence he collected and submitted during the investigation.
The forensic findings identified Charles Baker as an additional suspect connected to the burglaries.
On November 30, 2025, Lt. Cowan arrested Baker and charged him with Burglary, 3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
