Middlesboro Police Arrest Local Woman Accused of “Pill Dealing”

Just after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, officers with the Middlesboro Police Department executed a search warrant at 136 North 10th Street, located just behind Food City. This resulted in the seizure of nearly 1,000 prescription pills and a substantial amount of cash.


The investigation began after Lt. Barry Cowan received numerous complaints from residents regarding heavy traffic in and out of the residence. Following multiple controlled drug purchases conducted as part of the investigation, Lt. Cowan obtained a search warrant for the property.

During the search, officers recovered nearly 1,000 prescription pills and a large quantity of cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales. As a result, 69-year-old Dianna Loveday was arrested and charged with:


•Two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree,


•One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree, and


•One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree.


Loveday was transported to and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Lt. Cowan stated that additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.


Lt. Cowan also emphasized the importance of community involvement in combating illegal drug activity, saying, “Community tips are crucial to our investigations. We rely on residents to report suspicious or drug-related activity so we can take action and keep our neighborhoods safe.”
