Middlesboro shooting suspect on the run after two incidents at apartment complex

As we told you Friday morning, there were two shooting incidents in Middlesboro and the suspected shooter is still on the run.


Middlesboro Police stated in a release that Friday morning June 19, 2020 before 7:00am, officers were dispatched to Middlesboro ARH hosiptal in reference to a gunshot wound victim. During the investigation 21 year old Tommy J. Ellison of Middlesboro was identified as a possible suspect in the alleged shooting.

Later on Friday at approximately 12:00pm, the Middlesboro Police Department was dispatched to Rennie Gayle Homes in reference to a second shooting. Upon investigation Ellison was also identified as the suspect in this shooting.


Both individuals in the shootings sustained non-life threatening injuries and were acquaintances of Tommy Ellison, not random victims.

Middlesboro Police consider Tommy J. Ellison to be armed and dangerous, he should not be approached.

Assisting with the investigation were Cumberland Gap National Park Rangers, Middlesboro Police K-9 Havery Johnson with K-9 Atlas. Sgt. Kenny Vanover is in charge of the investigation.
