Missing Louisville Girl Found in the Company of Wanted Fugitive Caught in Barbourville, Ky.

From The US Marshal Service and Knox County Ky Sheriff's Department -

On Thursday January 8, 2026, the United States Marshals Service (USMS) - Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force (CKFTF), London Office, was contacted by Detectives from Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) Missing Persons, as well as USMS - Western Kentucky Regional Task Force (WKRTF), Louisville Office, in reference to an endangered missing child -13-year-old Amourette “Amy” Lopp - and a wanted person - 37-year-old Michael Dunn, who were believed to be together.
Lopp had been reported missing on Sunday, January 4, 2026, and was believed to be with non-custodial adults.
Dunn had been wanted since June of 2025 in Jefferson County, Kentucky for several felony warrants including Escape - 2nd Degree, Tampering with a Prisoner Monitoring Device, Probation Violations (PV) on Receiving Stolen Property $1000 < $10000 & Possession of a Handgun By a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance - 1st Degree. At the time, DUNN was known to be armed, dangerous, and trafficking narcotics.
On that same date, at approximately 10:50 PM, US Marshals CKFTF London Office, with the assistance of Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), Barbourville Police Department (BPD), and Bell County Sheriff's Department, developed information that the pair were walking southbound on the 3100 block of US-25E in Barbourville, KY.
Task Force Officers, Deputies, and Officers observed Dunn and Lopp walking, to which the team confronted the pair. Dunn was taken into custody without incident. Lopp was recovered safely without incident. Two handguns, marijuana, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia were recovered at the scene.
Kentucky Department of Community Based Services (KY DCBS) responded to the scene. Lopp was taken to Barbourville ARH, where she was medically cleared, and, at approximately 3:30am Friday January 9th, was reunited with her family.
Michael Dunn was transported to Knox County Detention Center (KCDC), where his outstanding felony warrants were served, and he was charged with Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Trafficking in Controlled Substances – 1st Degree (METHAMPHETAMINE), Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substances – 1st Offense (METHAMPHETAMINE), and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property.
A criminal investigation is on-going by the US Marshals Service.
