Monticello Man who struck another plead not guilty in Bell County court

The Monticello man who was arrested along with his son in connection to a death on Highway 92 Wednesday April 10th, plead not guilty to charges of leaving the scene of an accident-failure to render aid with death or serious physical injury on Monday the 15th.


With his 15 year old son in the vehicle, 34 year old Joshua Darin Ellis is accused of striking and killing 59 year old Aida Fuson after Fuson was attempting to load a pressure washer back into his vehicle after it fell off into the roadway.


He and his son were arrested after the vehicle they were in was spotted the next day by Trooper Don Perry. Ellis was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center while his son was transported to Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile was charged with tampering with physical evidence.


The next court appearance for Joshua Ellis is Tuesday April 23, 2019. He remains jailed without bond.
