On Monday night June 16, 2025, several law enforcement agencies were involved in apprehending a Morristown man after he assaulted officers fleeing from a traffic stop.
The incident originated in Bean Station when 25-year-old Cedric Akim Horger of Morristown is accused of running over the foot of one Bean Station Police officer and dragging yet another one with his vehicle after an attempted traffic stop.
Bean Station Police then initiated a pursuit which made its way into Claiborne County with Claiborne County Deputies joining the officers. Horger was finally stopped in the back yard of a Tazewell Police Officer when Claiborne Deputies and THP units used spike strips to end the pursuit.
Cedric Horger was arrested and lodged in the Grainger County Tn Jail charged by Bean Station Police with speeding, violation of open container laws, driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, driving on revoked/suspended license, felony evading arrest, and two counts of assault against a first responder.
