Multi-Agency Effort Apprehends Escapee in Lynch, Ky.

Marquis Long - HCDC

Marquis Long was arrested in the early hours of Monday, June 1st in the Lynch community after a coordinated effort between multiple agencies.

Through investigation it was determined that after escaping custody Long was hiding in Wise County Virginia. Long fled prior to the arrival of the Norton Police Department and Wise County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday, May 31st, information was provided by the Lynch Police Department on a possible location of Long. Deputies and officers with the Cumberland Police Department followed up on the information and located Long in the Lynch community.

Long was arrested by Sergeant Caleb Carmical and lodged at the Harlan County Detention Center. This case remains under investigation with more arrests pending.
