As we originally reported, on Tuesday, July 13, 2023, Claiborne County Lt./Detective Jason Henegar charged Brian Keith Taylor of New Tazewell with sex offenses regarding human trafficking.

At the time, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department was conducting a human trafficking operation at a home in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. The operation focused on “individuals purchasing commercial sex and individuals that engaged in the trafficking of others for commercial sex.”

During the course of the operation, Taylor traveled to the home and met with an undercover agent posing as a sixteen-year-old juvenile engaging in the sale of commercial sex. According to the original citation, Detective Henegar stated that Taylor agreed to pay $200 to the undercover agent for specified sex acts. Audio and video collected on scene substantiated the allegations against Taylor.

Taylor was then arrested and lodged in the Claiborne County Detention Center charged with solicitation of a minor and trafficking for a commercial sex act.

The plea agreement dated Thursday, August 13th states that Taylor has been sentenced to (8) years split confinement at 100 percent with (90) ninety days in custody for trafficking for commercial sex act – no motor vehicle.  Judge Zachary Walden accepted the agreement.

When released, Taylor must report to probation in person at least once a month, submit to random drug screens, be subject to the sex offender registry, and follow all other recommendations, such as paying at least $50/monthly beginning 30 days after release from split confinement.  The solicitation of a minor charge appears to have been dropped.

Brian K Taylor has reported in to begin his sentence.
