From The Pineville Ky Police Department -

Anthony Overton - BCDC

Friday morning July 17, 2020 a few minutes after 9:00am, a Newville, Ohio man identified as 48 year old Anthony Overton, was let into First state Bank of the Southeast for curbside service.

While inside he became belligerent toward the staff and grabbed the keys of an employee, ran out the front door, locking it behind him, and fled the scene on foot.

Within a matter of minutes, Pineville Assistant Police Chief Curtis Pingleton was dispatched to the scene and had Overton in custody at the intersection of Highway 25E and Highway 66.

While being arrested, Overton was asked by Pingleton if he had anything on him that would cause injury while being searched. Overton stated: “I have this to stick you” and pulled out a screw driver from his pocket as if to stab the assistant chief.

Anthony Overton was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500, disorderly conduct – 1st degree, and terroristic threatening – 3rd degree.
