Ohio man dies in Tennessee vehicle crash while fleeing from police

On Friday, December 30, 2022, at approximately 3:44 pm in Grainger county a man, identified as 30-year-old Travonte Eugene Harris of Xenia, Ohio, was being pursued by law enforcement for reasons not made public.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Jeffrey Poore, Harris was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 on Highway 25E northbound near Kincaid Farm Road.
He was attempting to negotiate a left curve on the roadway when he lost control of the vehicle. Harris then ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a guard rail, a utility pole, and continued in an uncontrolled manner traveling over an embankment overturning. The vehicle came to a final rest against a rock wall.
Travonte Eugene Harris was pronounced deceased on scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
