On Saturday April 1st, 2023, Pineville Police Officer Patrick Brooks charged a man for sexual offenses. According to the criminal complaint, 54-year-old Denver W. Smith of Pineville is accused of subjecting two juveniles under the age of 12 to sexual contact from January 2014 through December 2021in Bell County.
Smith is also charged with exhibiting pornography to these same minors during this time period.
A third charge for Smith states that he knowingly made false statements to affect the testimony of the victims.
Denver Smith was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse - 1st degree - victim under the age of 12, two counts of Distribution of Obscene Matter to Minors - 1st offense, and two counts of Tampering With a Witness.
He is being held on a $250,000.00 cash bond.
All those reported by WRIL as being arrested/charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
