Pineville woman cited to court after striking several vehicles and utility pole in New Tazewell

On Thursday night March 25, 2021 a Pineville woman, identified as 38-year-old April Wilson, had to be extricated from her vehicle after causing a serious accident on Broad Street in Tazewell, Tennessee.


According to New Tazewell Police Chief Ben Evans, Wilson was seen driving on Highway 33 crossing the median into oncoming traffic. She struck a motorhome, a guywire to a utility pole, and then travelled onto a car lot doing damage to four more vehicles at the business before the vehicle finally came to rest.


Other than Wilson, no other injuries have been reported.


Wilson sustained several injuries in the incident and was taken to Claiborne Medical Center for treatment. While at the hospital, she was found in possession of Meth. Due to her medical injuries, she was cited to court charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance, possession of a schedule 4 controlled substance, and possession of Methamphatmine. more charges are possibly pending.


Wilson has been arrested several times in Kentucky prior to this incident for driving under the influence, driving on suspended license, and multiple driving charges.
