On Friday, March 31, Middlesboro Police Narcotics Officer Ryan Collins along with Lt. Josh Burchett, Jake Perry, Preston Saylor, Jonathan Kinder, and Ben Spurlock, executed search warrants at two residences, one on Upper Gibson Road and the other on Exeter Avenue.
Located in the Upper Gibson Road residence asleep were 28-year-old Dalton Elliott and 43-year-old Jesse Bates. After the pair was detained and search warrant read, officers found several bags containing a large amount of suspected Methamphetamine weighing over 50 grams and various drug paraphernalia which included pipes and syringes. Both men were in possession of a large sum of money.
At the Exeter Avenue location, 45-year-old Amy Bates answered the door allowing officers in the home. In a bedroom officers found a large amount of Marijuana weighing over 4 pounds and a large sum of cash. In another bedroom belonging to Bates, officers found a bag of suspected Methamphetamine and pipes she claimed were hers.
Officers state in their citations that they seized over 4.5lbs of Marijuana, over 50 grams of Methamphetamine, two digital scales, distribution bags, and a cell phone was seized.
All three were arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
Amy Bates was charged with possession of controlled substance - 1st degree (Methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia - advertisement. She was also served an outstanding warrant.
Jesse Bates was charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense greater than or equal to 2 grams (Methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia - advertisement. He was also served a bench warrant.
Dalton Elliott was charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense greater than or equal to 2 grams (Methamphetamine), trafficking in Marijuana (8oz. to 5lbs) - 1st offense, drug paraphernalia - advertisement, and violation of conditions of release on a prior trafficking case.
