Signficant drug bust in Claiborne County

Rockey Lee Couarm - CCJ

On Monday, January 27th, 2020 the Claiborne County SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Crooked Ridge Lane in Tazewell, Tennessee in relation to a lengthy investigation regarding the distribution of illegal narcotics and possession of firearms by a convicted felon in relation to the resident, Rockey Lee Couarm.


Investigators with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the Criminal Investigations Division recovered a large amount of Methamphetamine, Heroin, Opana, Xanax, Marijuana, and Gabapentin worth approximately $65,000 street value.


Located inside the residence was fifteen firearms including a prohibited length shotgun, a homemade suppressor, and a substantial amount of ammunition.

Seized from the residence was approximately $8,000 of US currency believed to be proceeds of narcotic distribution and several vehicles including a Porsche SUV and a BMW Z4.


Rockey Lee Couarm was transported to the Claiborne County Justice Center and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for sale, Possession of Schedule I for sale, Possession of Schedule II for sale, Possession of Schedule III for sale, Possession of Schedule V for sale, Possession of Schedule VI for sale, Possession of Drug paraphernalia, Possession of Prohibited Weapon (x2), Possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (x15), Theft of Services, Theft of Property (x2), and Resisting Stop, Halt, Frisk.


Rockey Lee Couarm was lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.
