On Tuesday, September 3rd Knox Ky County Dispatch received a call from the mother of a Middlesboro man stating that her son was drunk and threatening her, causing a disturbance. According to the citation, Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to the residence on Bill Sowders Road.
Upon arrival Deputy Ashurst contacted the woman who called 911 and she stated that her son, identified as 49 year old Edward Jones Jr, had gone into a storage building and locked the door. Deputies were given permission to gain entry into the building locating Jones who was intoxicated. Jones stated to the deputies that he had been out of control all evening.
He was lodged in the Knox County Ky Detention Center charged with assault – 4th degree (domestic violence), terroristic threatening – 3rd degree, alcohol intoxication in a public place – 1st and 2nd degree.
Jones was also served a parole violation for a technical violation while he is in custody.
