Suspicious Person Complaint Leads to Arrest of Wanted Barbourville Man

From the Knox County Ky Sheriff's Department -

On Friday, November 7, 2025, Knox County Deputy David Dunn responded to a suspicious person complaint at a residence on KY 3438 north of Barbourville.
When Deputy Dunn arrived at the residence a male attempted to flee on foot. Deputy Dunn apprehended the man and located a syringe and a plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.
36-year-old Jason Gray of Barbourville, Ky., was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest and Menacing.
Jason Gray was also wanted on four (4) Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to appear on two (2) counts of Probation Violation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft of Identity of another without Consent and Contempt of Court charges.
Jason Gray was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith, LT Sam Mullins and Barbourville City Police Officers assisted in the arrests.
