Tazewell man arrested on warrants and found with meth, a gun, and cash

Friday October 11, 2019, 47 year old Shane N Franks of Tazewell, TN was arrested for several outstanding warrants.
During the arrest, Det. Eddie Hurley, assisted by Lt. Stephen Hurley, Det. Rocky White and Det. Tim Shrout, found approximately 4 grams of a substance believed to be Methamphetamine and a loaded magazine to a 9mm pistol in Mr. Franks’ possession.
After further observation they also found a pistol laying in the floorboard of the vehicle, a plastic shopping bag containing two baggies of the same substance, totaling approximately 14 grams in all, a large sum of cash believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales, and another bag containing several ziplock style baggies.
Among other charges including several for failure to appear in court, Shane N. Franks is being held at the Claiborne County Jail for possession of firearm during dangerous felony.
