At 10:04 pm on Sunday Night October 1, 2023, first responders in Claiborne County arrived on scene at a single motorcycle collision at 2603 Highway 33 southbound in New Tazewell.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report states that a 1992 Harley Davidson driven by 48-year-old Ricky Elliott Jr. of Tennessee, was traveling south on Highway 33 when he left the right side of the roadway and struck the roadside guardrail. The motorcycle then laid over, causing it to flip and Elliott to be thrown from the vehicle.
Ricky Elliott Jr. was pronounced deceased at the scene.
