Three charged in Knox County after KSP Arson Investigation

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Kentucky State Police received a call from Barbourville Police Department for assistance on a fire investigation which indicated that Barbourville Fire Department was called to a residential fire on Pitzer Street. Upon extinguishing the fire, evidence from the scene lead to possible arson.


Three individuals were questioned and admitted to the investigating troopers that they set the fire for insurance fraud. An individual living in the basement was able to escape during the fire without any injuries sustained.


Arrested by KSP were 58-year old Ann Slone, 66-year-old Donnie Sloan, and 56-year-old Beatrice Isaac, all of Barbourville. The trio was lodged in the Knox County Ky Detention Center charged with Arson - 1st degree and Wanton Endangerment.


Trooper Josh Jones is leading the investigation. Also assisting in the investigation were Barbourville Police Department, Barbourville Fire Department, and Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Pat Alford.
