On Monday night July 25, 2022, after observing a blue Dodge 1500 pickup truck cross the center and right lines on Highway 25E southbound multiple times, Middlesboro Police Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Stopping to assist was Officer Morgan Justice who became lead officer regarding the incident.

Upon contact with the driver, he was identified as 50-year-old Michael Steven Yamin of Harrogate, Tennessee. During the stop consent was asked for and refused to search Yamin's truck leading officers to request K-9 Officer Nick Capps with Rahab to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle. This lead to an alert by the K-9 and a subsequent search of the pickup.

During the search, officers located approximately 29 grams of Cocaine and 1.1 pounds of Marijuana. The street value of both was approximated between $7,500 to $10,000.

Michael Yamin was place under arrest and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than or equal to 4 grams Cocaine), trafficking in Marijuana (8 oz. to 5lbs) - 1st offense, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, resisting arrest, and filing a false report.
