Two Kentuckians arrested in Lee County Virginia charged with drug offenses

From The Lee County, Va. Sherriff's Department -

Sheriff Gary B. Parsons and Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force reports that on January 27, 2023 they conducted a Buy/Bust Operation in Lee County. The Operation was an undercover purchase of 300 pressed Fentanyl Tablets at a cost of $4,500.00.


The undercover transaction took place as planned and the Virginia State Police Tactical Team was tasked with the arrest portion of the operation. One of the suspects involved fled on foot and was pursued and then apprehended by a K-9.


Arrested on scene were 39-year-old Nickolas Thompson of 833 Mt Moriah Road, Boston, Kentucky and 36-year-old Sonya Carder of 101 Newton Street, Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Thompson was charged with Distribution of a Schedule II narcotic and conspiracy, transporting more than one ounce of a schedule II narcotic into the Commonwealth of Virginia, resisting arrest, and fleeing from law enforcement.


Carder was charged with conspiracy to distribute a schedule II narcotic, and conspiracy to transport more than one ounce of a schedule II narcotic into the Commonwealth of Virginia. Both Suspects are being held without bond at Duffield Regional Jail.
