Two Kentucky residents arrested initally for a Harrogate burglary, then drugs and guns

From The Claiborne County Sheriff's Department -

On Thursday, November 14, 2019, Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hopewell Rd in Harrogate in regards to a burglary in process. A TWRA Officer was near the residence at the time and was first on the scene.


The suspects, 48 year old Shawn Wright and 38 year old Toni Andrews both of Kentucky, had loaded a metal claw foot bath tub in the bed of a black Chevy S-10 belonging to Wright. After confirmation that both subjects have active warrants out of KY with full extradition, Wright and Andrews were placed into custody.


Upon further investigation, Officials recovered a loaded Taurus .38 cal revolver, a loaded Ruger AR-15 .223 cal riffle with “SW” written on it with 4 additional loaded magazines, a small amount of Marijuana with 2 smoking pipes, a total of over 42 grams of Methamphetamines, 3.5 grams of Heroin, several tablets determined to be Clonazepam with baggies used for resale, a box of unused syringes, several large knives and small baseball bats.


Both subjects are being charged with Theft of Property under $1000, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Sch I for resale, Possession of Sch IV for resale, Simple Possession of Sch VI, Possession of Methamphetamines for resale & Possession of Firearm in commission of a dangerous felony x2. Additionally, Wright is being charged with Possession of a firearm by convicted felon x2.


The investigation into this incident is still ongoing and other charges are pending.


Both individuals are lodged in the Claiborne County Jail.
