UPDATE - Harlan Suboxone Clinic raided

From WRIL -

Brief update:

FBI Media Liaison Tim Beam tells WRIL that agents with the FBI along with the ANI and supporting law enforcement conducted judicial operations in Floyd, Harlan, and Pike Counties. He went on to say that at this time they will not be sending out a formal release on today's operations.

WRIL was contacted around 10:30am about a heavy police presence at a Suboxone/pain management clinic in the city of Harlan this morning. The business is located on Main Street near the Mound intersection which is currently closed to traffic.

We are told the letters BHP (Behavioral Health Professionals) are on the clinic's window and may be working in conjunction with Brookside Residential Treatment. We know that patients inside the business have been temporarily detained and are being questioned.

The website for Brookside states they are: "a residential treatment center for men and women suffering from substance abuse. Brookside is nestled within the mountains of Pike County, KY on a beautiful, Tranquil setting with comfortable living quarters and amenities. Our program integrates the best practices of clinical drug treatment with a time-tested harm-education recovery model."

We don't know in what capacity Brookside was utilizing the space that is being investigated because they are not listed as the business at the location.

We do know that this is a joint investigation between multiple agencies and that the Appalachian Narcotics Investigations is also involved. Appalachia Narcotics Investigations is a multi-agency narcotics investigative unit consisting of Detectives from the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Pineville Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
