UPDATE: MISSING BELL COUNTY MAN FOUND DECEASED

From the Bell County Ky Sheriff's Department -
On Friday, December 16, 2022 at approximately 1:30pm Bell County Dispatch received a call of a body being found in an area along Highway 221.
Once on scene it was determined that the individual was a Bell County man, 70-year-old Woodrow (Woody) M. Barton, who had been reported as missing since Monday the 12th from a Bradfordtown residence. The area Barton's body was discovered was just short of a mile from that residence.
Bell County Deputy Coroner Jason Steele confirmed that he has spoken to next of kin.
The cause of his death is still under investigation and pending autopsy results. The case is being handled by K-9 Sgt. Adam Southern.
On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at approximately 3:35 pm K-9 Sgt. Adam Southern spoke with a woman who reported her brother 70-year-old Woodrow (Woody) M. Barton missing.
He was last seen leaving a Bradfordtown Road residence on foot on Monday, December 12, at 6:00 pm wearing a black jacket and black cargo pants.
Woodrow Barton is described as 5' 7" tall weighing 150lbs, having gray hair green eyes, and missing his index and middle fingers on his left hand.
