From WVLT/WRIL -

As WRIL reported on Thursday December 12th, a woman was attacked by four dogs while making a home visit in southern Claiborne County. She was badly injured, but her family posted that she is doing well after surgery.
WVLT reports now that investigators with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the attack at 11:00 a.m. in New Tazewell.
Investigators said a home healthcare worker, 25 year old Anessa Jae Wilder employed by Amedysis, was injured in the attack and sustained more than 150 lacerations after being attacked by five dogs at a residence on Straight Creek Road. Wilder was making a home visit for a patient in her care at the time.
The CCSO says that another home healthcare worker was nearby and had decided to stop at the patient's home to check on Anessa. When he pulled into the driveway saw her on the ground being attacked by multiple dogs.
Investigators said Wilder was transported to the Claiborne County Hospital for treatment. Her family tells WRIL that she underwent surgery for the multiple injuries sustained in the attack. The CCSO stated that all of the dogs, a mix of pit bull and Labrador, have been put down upon the owner's request.
The case is under investigation.
