Warning lights being installed in Knox County/bridge replacement in Harlan - both staring Oct 5th

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that the new traffic signal with advance warning flashers on US 25E north of Barbourville (mile point 14.5) in Knox County will be activated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5.

Bridge Replacement Project is Expected to Start Wednesday, October 5 in Harlan County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 11 Office advises motorists that a bridge replacement project in Harlan County is expected to start Wednesday, October 5.

This Harlan County bridge project will replace the KY 72 bridge over Catron Creek at mile point 5.14.

The existing bridge will be closed, and traffic will be maintained on a temporary, single-lane diversion throughout construction. Motorists should watch for signage and flaggers. This bridge project has a traffic impact time of up to 75 days, and the new bridge should open to traffic in the middle of December.
