Woman's body recovered after boating accident

From The TWRA -

The body of a Knoxville woman was recovered Friday March 27, 2020 after she fell out of a boat in Norris Lake in Claiborne County, state wildlife officials said.

The woman was identified as Barbara P. Morgan, according to Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

TWRA used a remote operated vehicle to find her body about noon just outside a wave break at Rock Harbor development. The Claiborne County Rescue Squad assisted.

"Wildlife officers believe the victim fell overboard from a pontoon boat being operated by the victim’s husband, Paul Richard Morgan, 75, also of Knoxville," according to TWRA.

Paul Morgan tried to rescue her Thursday but the boat drifted away.

He swam to a nearby island and was picked up by a passing boat, according to TWRA.

Paul Morgan was being treated at University of Tennessee Medical Center but was expected to be released Friday, according to TWRA.
