A man just released from jail gets new charges involving burglary and theft

A man just released from jail on Wednesday April 10th is back in the Bell County Detention Center on new charges. 35 year old John Curtis Davis, with a Williamsburg address, was lodged in the facility after Middlesboro Detective Sgt. Joe Holder charged him with burglary.


In his citation, Sgt. Holder states that Davis entered a storage trailer on the Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College campus and removed items from the trailer. The act was caught on video surveillance as Davis was seen stacking the items outside the unit and also attempting to gain entrance to a garage building nearby.


Davis is also accused of stealing a truck from the Middlesboro Airport. Officer Jordan Hurd was the investigating officer on that case.


John Davis has been charged with theft by unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.00, criminal mischief – 1st degree, criminal trespassing – 2nd degree, and burglary – 3rd degree.


Also assisting was Officer Kenny Vanover.


Davis had been arrested by Officer Nick Capps on April 1st on two bench warrants, one for disorderly conduct – 2nd degree and a $1048.00 pay or stay warrant for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
