On Sunday morning March 30th, Nicole Messico-Amburgey and her husband were traveling on Highway 58 in Lee County coming home from grocery shopping when they saw a young woman covered in blood and bound in duct tape. According to Nicole the woman was "half-naked running down the four-lane."
Nicole tells us she immediately stopped and helped the woman adding that her husband Lance, a decorated veteran, kept the woman as calm as possible after Nicole called 911. She said: "His combat experience came in handy today. He was able to remain calm in the chaos."
The woman told Nicole and Lance that she had been kidnapped on Saturday March 29th and taken to an abandoned house where she was kept. She also said she jumped through a window to escape. She went on to say that more than a dozen people had passed her and she didn't think anyone was going to help her, and "he" her husband Richard Davenport, would find and kill her. She did not say from where she had been kidnapped by Richard.

Responding to the scene were Lee County Sgt William Thornton and Lt. Chad Rouse. The men helped cut the duct tape off of the woman, and collected information from Nicole and Lance. The deputies waited with her for the ambulance and she was transported to a local hospital suffering from multiple injuries.
We have confirmed that individual is 30-year-old Richard Davenport of Ewing Virginia arrested by Sgt. Thornton and booked into the Duffield Regional Jail according to records.

ASSAULT Firearm use in commission of felony - first offense
