From The Tazewell Tennessee Police Department -
On Thursday June 10, 2021, Tazewell Police Department officers were dispatched to the intersection of Youngstown Road and U.S. Hwy. 25E in reference to a fight in progress in the roadway between two drivers.
Upon arrival, Officers Jeff Green and Megan Karg found through investigation that a white sedan had rammed a red Lexus and that the driver of the white vehicle had started an altercation with the occupants of that vehicle. The driver then fled the scene southbound with front end damage.
Detective Tim Shrout with the Claiborne County Sheriffs Office and Chief Jeremy Myers with the Tazewell Police Department gave pursuit of the fleeing driver. The vehicle was stopped in the Springdale area near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 25E and State Hwy. 33.
Officer Green relocated the other party to that location and determined through investigation that both parties knew each other and that the incident was intentional. Officer Green further found through investigation that the driver of the vehicle that fled , 43-year-old Eric Ericson of Maynardville, Tn. was in possession of three weapons, a pistol, shotgun, and rifle. Upon a further search of the vehicle, Officer Green located what is believed to be Schedules I, II drugs.
Eric Ericson was arrested and transported to the Claiborne County Jail charged with the following and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
