The sheriff's department put out a warning to area restaurants and businesses. Today, Monday June 15, 2020, Arby's of Pineville received a call from an individual claiming he was with the home office of the business.
The caller knew the appropriate names of those in charge and stated he was on his way to the restaurant to conduct an investigation into missing money.
The caller went on to ask the employee to disclose to him the amount of money on hand and in the safe.
The employee had a feeling that something wasn't right so they hung up and called the number of the home office contact who stated they had no such investigation going on.
