56-year-old John M. Miller of Arjay Kentucky had been wanted in connection with a shooting that took place in the Arjay Community in the afternoon of Saturday, March 5th. The victim was flown to UT Medical Center for a possible life-threatening injury.
Miller was taken into custody in the early morning hours of Sunday May, 2022 by Middlesboro Officer Caleb Ayers on the criminal complaint taken out by Deputy Marti Messer for attempted murder. He is lodged in the Bell County Detention Center and is being held under a $250,000 cash bond. Miller is also facing charges of giving an officer false information, possession of Methamphetamine, and he was served three outstanding bench warrants.
Also arrested in connection with this incident was 50-year-old Kimberly Chaves of Arjay, Kentucky who was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon March 16, 2022. This incident took place at her residence.
She has been charged with facilitation and tampering with physical evidence in this attempted murder case. She was released on $100,000 cash bond on April 21, 2022.
