Burglary suspect caught in Knox County Ky

On Monday August 26, 2019 at approximately 10:00 am Knox County Deputy SGT Carl Frith responded to a reported burglary at a residence on Bramblewood Drive in Corbin. During the investigation a description of the perpetrator was obtained. After leaving the scene, SGT Frith patrolled in the area attempting to locate the suspect.


SGT Frith observed a man fitting the description walking up to a house in Timber Ridge and when SGT Frith pulled upto the house, the man started running. SGT Frith was able to overtake the man and after a brief struggle arrested Michael Felix age 38 of Corbin.


SGT Frith charged him with Burglary-2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.


Michael Felix was also a suspect in other burglaries occurring in the area. He was charged with burglaries on the Grant Cemetery Road, Middle Fork Richland Road, Deer Creek Drive and Prewitt Road. SGT Frith also recovered a stolen Polaris ATV at a residence on Ott Road in Corbin. The ATV was taken during the Deer Creek Drive burglary.


In addition to the above charges Felix was wanted on a Whitley County Indictment Warrant for Burglary-2nd Degree and Receiving Stolen Property-under $10,000.


Michael Felix was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
