Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Whitley County

WILLIAMSBURG, KY. (August 05, 2023) – at approximately 2:33 PM, the Kentucky State Police, London Post was contacted by Whitley County Sheriff's Office for assistance on a two-vehicle fatal collision that occurred at the intersection of US 25W and Falls Creek Road in Whitley County.  


The initial investigation indicates that a 2012 White Jeep Patriot operated by Charles L. Robinson 68 years old of Corbin, KY, pulled out of Falls Creek Road onto US 25 W when his vehicle entered the path of a 2013 Nissan Altima that was traveling south, driven by Sandy M. Harp, 52 years old of Williamsburg, Ky.


As a result of the collision, Florence J. Neal, 59 years old of Corbin, Ky. suffered life-threatening injuries, she was pronounced deceased by the Whitley County Coroner’s office. Sandy Harp was flown to Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington with non-life threating injuries.


Harp’s other passenger Troy Harp of Corbin was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center by Whitley County EMS. Irene Robinson passenger of Mr. Robinson vehicle was also taken by Whitley County EMS to Baptist Regional Medical Center both with non-life-threatening injuries.


KSP Post 11 Trooper Joseph Mallory is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 Personnel, the Whitley County Sherriff’s Office, Whitley County EMS, Woodbine Fire Department, Air Evac, and the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.
