At approximately 2:50 Thursday afternoon the driver of a white pickup truck lost control of his vehicle and it flipped several times ejecting him in the process coming to rest in the median on Highway 25E near the Bell County/Knox County line.
Kentucky State Police Public Relations Trooper Shane Jacobs tells WRIL that the lone occupant has been identified as 61 year old Daniel Patterson of Girdler, he was not wearing a seat belt. Patterson was pronounced deceased at the scene by deputy coroners of the Knox County Coroner's office.
Also assisting on scene was the East Knox County Fire Department and Bell County EMS.
Several of Patterson's friends tell us he was a good man and will be sorely missed.
