On Monday, October 28, 2019 at approximately 6:00 am Knox County Deputy Sam Mullins received a complaint of a two year old child being left alone at a residence on Cactus Lane in Barbourville.
When Deputy Mullins arrived at the residence, Social Services had already arrived and had possession of the child.
Deputy Mullins learned that the mother had left the child with her boyfriend and he had went to the Barbourville ARH leaving the child alone. Deputy Mullins arrested Daniel W. Gambrel age 34 of Barbourville, KY. charging him with Wanton Endangerment-2nd Degree.
Daniel Gambrel was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing and an additional arrest could be forthcoming.
Barbourville City Officers Chase Henson and Carl Middleton assisted in the arrest.
