KNOX COUNTY SHOOTING SUSPECT DONALD NAPIER ARRESTED IN FLOYD COUNTY KENTUCKY

THIRD UPDATE: Trooper Shane Jacobs states that on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Donald Napier has been apprehended and arrested in Floyd County Ky. He is placed in custody and will be awaiting to be extradited back to Knox County to face charges of assault 1st two counts.

SECOND UPDATE:

KSP are still looking for Donald Napier, 39 for assault first degree charges in the shooting of Jonathan and April Barrett. Both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.


Please contact your local law enforcement agency if you know the whereabouts of Mr. Napier.

On December 26th, the 2013 white Chevrolet Malibu that Mr. Napier was operating was located in Richmond Ky and impounded. Mr. Napier was not with the vehicle at the time.


We are still currently searching for Mr. Napier.

As we reported on social media, there was a shooting in the Gray, Ky. community on Lynn Camp School Hollow Road.


KSP Public Affairs Trooper Shane Jacobs states that KSP units arrived on scene determining that that two individuals were shot while sitting in a vehicle at a residence. Both individuals were later flown to University of Tennessee Medical Center for their injuries.



No arrests have been made at this time, however KSP is attempting to locate 39-year-old Donald Napier for two counts of assault - 1st degree. Napier is described as a white male, 5'10", 140 pounds, last seen driving a newer model White Chevy Malibu, unknown tags.


Trooper Jacobs also states that this felt to be an isolated event and the public is not in any danger. If you have any information about this investigation, you are urged to contact Post 10 Harlan at 606-573-3131. KSP Det. Jake Middleton is in charge of the investigation.
