Large meth bust in Knox County Kentucky - 2 arrested

On Monday February 25, 2019 at approximately 4:00 am Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst was patrolling in the Corbin Bypass area of Knox County.


While on Buchanan Drive near the concrete plant, Deputy Ashurst observed a black Toyota pick-up parked in near a gate.


While checking the vehicle, Deputy Ashurst located approximately 2 pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine, several Oxycodone tablets, several Suboxone strips, approximately one pound of marijuana, a loaded handgun, a set of digital scales, a “meth” pipe and over $8000 in cash.



Deputy Ashurst arrested Joe Barlow Owens age 43 of Blacksburg, SC charging him with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Trafficking in Marijuana-over 8 ounces, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance and Attempt Bribery of a Public Servant.

Deputy Ashurst also arrested a passenger in the vehicle, Stephanie L Brock age 34 of Rockholds, KY charging her with Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree, Trafficking in Marijuana-over 8 ounces, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance.


Joe Barlow Owens and Stephanie Brock were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
